Q1 2021: Top Drawing & Coloring Apps in the US Show Varied User Engagement

In the first quarter of 2021, the drawing and coloring app category saw a mix of trends among the top apps in the United States. Data from Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into how these creative outlets performed.

Phone Case DIY by Crazy Labs had an impressive start with downloads peaking at 629K in the last week of December 2020, followed by a dip and a resurgence to 572K in mid-January. Downloads then gradually declined to around 202K by the end of March. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting strong at 938K, but eventually settling near 611K.

X-Flow's Happy Color® Art Coloring Book maintained consistent revenue throughout the quarter, with a peak at 31K USD in mid-January. Downloads saw a gradual decrease from 216K to 127K, while weekly active users fluctuated, reaching a high of 2.72M in early March.

Lion Studios' Silhouette Art showed varied performance with revenues swinging from 522 USD to 589 USD toward the end of March. Downloads started at 230K but dropped to 63K, and weekly active users followed a similar downward trend from 296K to 108K.

Paint by Number Coloring Game by Oakever Games saw a revenue increase in the latter weeks, reaching 39K USD. Downloads had a slight uptick from 72K to 79K in the final weeks, and weekly active users also rose, achieving a peak of 937K in mid-March.

Finally, Pixel Art － Color by Number from Easybrain garnered revenues that ranged from 50K USD to 43K USD by the quarter's end. The app experienced a steady download rate, peaking at 82K in late March. Weekly active users saw significant growth, starting at 992K and increasing to 1.11M.
